🌱 PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This once-a-month class introduces young children to photography as a tool for wonder, discovery, independence, awareness and creativity. 

​

Each session blends:

• Mindful observation

• Creative photographic exploration

• Emotional literacy through images

• Play, storytelling, and self‑discovery

📸 CONCEPTS TO BE INTRODUCED

Sensory exploration, early visual literacy, emotional expression through images

 

Themes:

1. What Do I See?

Attention, slowing down, noticing detail

2. Colors & Feelings

Emotional association with color

​

3. Light & Shadow Play

Early visual culture + sensory discovery

4. My World Up Close

Macro exploration, textures

5. Storytelling Through Play

Narrative thinking through images

6. Self‑Portraits of Emotion

Identity, expression, confidence

Class Structure 

1. Arrival Ritual 
   Mindful looking game (“Find something tiny/bright/soft”).

2. Exploration Walk 
   Children use simple cameras or tablets to photograph:

   • Colors

   • Shapes

   • Shadows

   • Textures

3. Creative Invitation 

   • Shadow theater

   • “Feelings through colors” photo scavenger hunt

4. Closing Ritual (10 min)
   Bilingual gratitude circle + “What did your eyes discover today?”

As we close our season together, our young artists and their families will be invited to share their favorite pieces during a special Gallery Exhibition—an intimate photography exposition for friends and family, where their work is honored, their voices are seen, and their creative journeys are celebrated. It’s a moment for children to shine, for parents to witness their growth, and for our community to gather around the beauty they’ve captured through their own eyes
