🌊JR. Ranger Day
Discovering the Hidden World of Shells

Hosted by The Florida Department of Environmental Protection I Ranger Fin

This is a program only for families attending programs at Miami Nature Playschool & The Childhood Nature Project

Oleta State Park invites children ages 2–6 into an hour of hands‑on exploration along the shoreline. Together, we search for shells, sea beans, rocks, and other natural treasures, using beautifully illustrated flash cards to identify each find. This simple, versatile structure allows children of all ages and learning styles to participate with confidence and joy.

As we explore, children learn what lives inside different shells, how these creatures shape coastal ecosystems, and why protecting them matters. Through curiosity, movement, and sensory discovery, participants build a deeper connection to the natural world and a growing understanding of the ocean’s delicate balance.

This program is perfect for young scientists who want to go deeper or simply enjoy the wonder of searching, sorting, and learning by doing.
