Hosted by The Childhood Nature Project

šŸŽ¶ Concert for Kids: The Carnival of the Animals

We are excited to invite your family to a magical morning of music, imagination, and animal‑inspired storytelling at the New World Center. This special edition of Concert for Kids: Creatures in Concert brings classical music to life through playful pieces that portray lions, elephants, swans, bumblebees, coyotes, and more—perfect for young listeners and their grown‑ups.

🐾 About the Theme:

Many of the works featured in this concert come from or are inspired by The Carnival of the Animals, a beloved musical suite by Camille Saint‑SaĆ«ns that humorously portrays different animals through music. This piece is widely used in children’s concerts because it blends storytelling, imagination, and classical music in a way that helps young children connect with sound, rhythm, and emotion.

Family‑friendly performances of Carnival of the Animals often include interactive elements, movement, and opportunities for children to engage with the musicians—similar to the ā€œMusic for the Very Youngā€ concerts where children march, roar, and hop along with the music.

This concert follows that same spirit: short, expressive pieces that help children ā€œseeā€ animals through sound.
