Young Explorers Playcamp

Following Tiny Trees Preschool stablished in Seattle, Washington in 2016; Young Explores Playcamp (YEP) by The Childhood Nature Project in partnership with Miami Nature Playschool, aims to be the first nature-based, early childhood development program offered in a South Florida public park that offers a quality, outdoor, preschool program for children 3 to 5 years old. Many childhood educators feel that there is kindergarten crisis in America, The original emphasis on self-directed learning and constructive play is fast being replaced with hours of mandated reading instructions and an alienation of the outdoors. We believe that children, especially those between the ages of 3 and 5, learn best through direct experience with the natural world. Research proves that this is the case. You can learn more about the benefits of nature-based education here.

Mothers Healing Circle

Every month we come together with fellow moms and meditate and share in a circle with a ritual that is set to empower the pillars of our families, mothers. We held our first circle a few weeks after Hurricane Irma to help process- in a supportive circle of moms- all the stress and fear we felt in ourselves, our families and our community. The response was so overwhelming and the connection & healing so profound we decided to make this an ongoing program exploring a different theme each time. The circle is led by Natalia Sturla a mother of boys, yogi, cook, health coach and Reiki healer. Learn more about her here and find our next Mothers Healing Circle here.

Adventures in Nature

Adventures in Nature is designed to offer school-age children who spend the majority of the week indoors with a space for unstructured outdoor play, where they can interact with the natural world and practice mindfulness and yoga. The program encourages an appreciation and respect for nature, creativity and imagination. The evidence is abundant- studies prove that regular, unstructured outdoor play produces significant improvements in attention disorders and boosts physical and emotional well being. “Nature connectedness” is also linked to more pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors, cooperation, empathy, self-regulation and ultimately happiness.

Conscious Discipline

We believe in a gentle and empowering way to parent our children and it is through the teachings of Conscious Discipline workshops. Join us for a two consecutive Saturday mornings to better understand yourself and your child and gain some valuable compassionate tools to parent effectively and resolve family conflicts. This workshop is interactive and you will benefit not only from the knowledgeable coach but from the support and insight of other parents/caretakers of young children.

Learn how to:

  • calm and discipline yourself first before disciplining your child
  • help your child see themselves as a contributing member of the family
  • use the power of attention: what you focus on you get more of
  • help your child to exercise free will
  • and most importantly help your child maintain their self-esteem by accepting feelings while setting limits
